Want to be less stuck and more connected?

Our skilled couples therapists are here to help you rebuild trust, communication, and closeness.

Do You Just Want to Feel Like You and Your Partner Are on the Same Team?

Are you and your partner struggling to feel close, communicate clearly, or reconnect after a difficult chapter? Has the distance between you grown — whether from the pace of life, unresolved conflict, or emotional wounds that haven’t healed?

Even the most loving couples can lose their rhythm over time. But when both partners are willing to reflect on their patterns, take ownership of their role, and show up with curiosity and care, couples therapy can be a powerful space to grow together.

Whether you’re navigating disconnection, conflict, intimacy concerns, or life transitions, we offer thoughtful, structured support to help you strengthen your relationship and feel like you’re on the same team again.

Why Couples Therapy Helps

Couples therapy can help you deepen your emotional and sexual connection.

It can help create intentionality around becoming better acquainted with your own and your partner's thoughts and feelings, dreams and desires, values and goals. The busyness of life can leave little space for you to enjoy quality time connecting and, instead, cause distance and distress. But you don’t have to reach a breaking point in the relationship to consider couples counseling. Acknowledging you could benefit from receiving support is not a sign of failure but rather a way to cement your relationship through improved understanding, compassion, and commitment.

Couples therapy can help you recognize why it’s been challenging to shift from a relationship dynamic that isn’t working into a new cadence that supports growth and connection. Part of that shift often involves creating emotional safety—building secure attachment in relationships is a key step toward lasting change.

We also provide a comfortable and encouraging space for couples to safely talk through sexual concerns, learn about different models of sexual desire, and practice strategies between counseling sessions that help reduce anxiety around emotional vulnerability, physical affection, and sexual intimacy.

What to Expect in Sessions

Our couples therapy assessment process includes an initial joint session, followed by individual sessions with each partner to (1) ensure emotional safety, (2) understand each person’s experience, and (3) determine whether joint therapy is the most supportive path.

Our scheduling process is thoughtfully designed to support you and your partner in doing meaningful and last work. In the initial phase—usually the first few months—we typically meet weekly to build trust, clarify goals, and begin untangling persistent patterns in your dynamic. Because relationship concerns are often rooted in long-standing emotions, histories, and habits, we give them the time and attention they deserve.

To support consistency and momentum, we generally schedule sessions in 1-2 month blocks, making therapy a steady and reliable part of your weekly rhythm—just like any other meaningful commitment.

Depending on your needs, we may work on:

  • Actively healing relationship wounds through productive communication
  • Learning how to navigate conflict without escalation or shut-down
  • Understanding how each of you expresses and receives love
  • Learning how to regulate emotion in the moment and share thoughts and feelings productively
  • Clearing out barriers to emotional connection and physical intimacy including addressing any discomfort you may have talking about sex
  • Learning each other’s sexual roadmaps
  • Developing insight into how your personal histories and internal emotional worlds shape the dynamic between you—helping each of you better understand yourselves and how you show up in the relationship

Our Approach to Couples Therapy

Our work is grounded in evidence-based frameworks like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, while also making space for deeper insight work that explores your internal world, personal history, and the unconscious patterns that shape how you show up in the relationship.

  • EFT helps couples process their emotional experience of the relationship and restructure their relationship patterns to develop and strengthen the bond between partners. With a clearer understanding of each other's core needs, partners can foster a deeper sense of connection.
  • Gottman Method interventions focus on helping couples manage conflict more effectively. Through practical tools and strategies, couples learn to navigate disagreements with greater ease and create more harmony in their daily interactions.

Couples therapy can help you create a relationship that not only rekindles your sexual connection but also deepens your emotional intimacy.

Is Couples Therapy Right for Us?

We work best with couples who are ready to look inward, not just point fingers — where both partners are open to growth, accountability, and exploring new ways of relating.

Couples therapy can be especially effective if:

  • You both want to work on the relationship, even if you’re unsure how
  • You’re willing to reflect on your own part in conflict and disconnection
  • You can stay engaged in the process, even when it feels vulnerable
  • You’re committed to building emotional safety, not just solving surface issues

Couples therapy may NOT be the best fit if:

  • One partner feels emotionally unsafe or regularly dismissed
  • There is a pattern of controlling, contemptuous, or manipulative behavior
  • One partner is using therapy as a way to “fix” or change the other
  • There’s active abuse or coercion that hasn’t been addressed in individual work

If you’re not sure where you fall, that’s okay. We’re here to help you assess what kind of support will serve you best — whether that’s couples therapy, individual work, or discernment counseling. The most important thing is that you feel safe, seen, and supported in your next step.

Couples therapy works best when both partners are willing to reflect, grow, and take ownership in the process. Not sure if you’re ready? Click here to schedule a consult first.

Couples Counseling Fees & Insurance

Couples counseling is offered on a self-pay basis only.

  • Initial Intake Session (60–90 minutes): $150
  • Ongoing 60-Minute Couples Sessions: $125

Insurance reimbursement for couples counseling is often limited. Many insurance plans require services to be medically necessary and associated with a diagnosable mental health condition for one identified client. Because couples counseling focuses on improving the relationship rather than treating an individual mental health diagnosis, insurance coverage is frequently unavailable or may not accurately reflect the purpose of treatment.

To ensure that treatment remains focused on your relationship and is not influenced by insurance requirements, we do not bill insurance for couples counseling. Payment is due at the time of service.

If you have questions about our fees or whether couples counseling is the best fit for your needs, we are happy to discuss your options before scheduling.
